This site was devised, written and is maintained by Martin Davies.

Martin has an honours degree in law and qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales in 1985. He was a solicitor in private practice until 1992, specialising in Personal Injury and Criminal Litigation. In 1994 he became Director of Marketing for a large regional law practice in Hampshire, and then Director of Operations for one of the largest law firms in the South East of England. He has written for various legal publications and for the Independent newspaper and is the author of "How to Apply for a Legal Aid Franchise" and "Legal Marketing", both published by Blackstone Press. He lectures and acts as a Consultant to the legal profession on web issues.

LAW on the WEB was conceived in April 1999 and was first published in July 1999. The aim of this site is to make the law more accessible to individuals through easily accessed, easily understood and constantly updated information. As a spin-off from that site this Can I Claim? site was developed to provide specific information to those who have been injured in accidents or are victims of medical or clinical negligence. It was set up in August 2000.
